FLORA
A tactile collection of mixed media oil paintings inspired by warmth, memory, nostalgia, and femininity.
As a child, I fondly recall the warm memories of flower picking and pressing with my mother.
We would gather wild clovers, dandelions, and miscellaneous leaves from my back yard, bringing them home to place between pages of my heaviest childhood reading books. Sometimes we would sit outside, and she would teach me how to weave flower crowns from our pickings with longer stems.
Bare feet on the grass.
Nimble fingers looping together each stem, one by one.
The fragility of each flower —
especially when dried and pressed.

Softness.
Admiration and awe.
Beauty.
Content.
Home.
I remember the care and delicacy of those moments. The simplicity and innocence of it all.
flora captures the comfort, innocence, and fragility of these personal recollections //
